Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The end of the hose in the sump must be above the end of the hose in the 15 gallon container and the container should typically be below sump level or you will draw a siphon.
Easiest fix would be run the ATO hose up to your overflow, terminate it there, and keep the ATO hose above and out of...
I must say, I am really liking the Vegas. I am still in acclimation mode so the lights are only at about 35% but the color that is coming back in the corals is amazing.
My Tyree Aequituberculata is making an incredible comeback. I thought I would only have a 1/2" frag of it left, but the whole...
Been there, done that! One meeting I hosted we had 10-12 people come and only 2 brought food. Needless to say the fridge was well stocked! :D It's not good to drink on an empty stomach so we ordered some pizzas and it worked out great.
Tank is decent, it's all 3/8" tempered glass with beveled edges. Bulkheads that come with it are total junk, so pick up some new 3/4" & 1" bulkheads. I also replaced the return lines with real loc-line hose and fittings.
I stopped in last friday to check out the store and get the 411. They are still cycling the SW fish systems so there is not a lot of fish at the moment. They have 4 tanks of corals mostly soft and LPS but one of tank has a few colonies of SPS. Once the systems are a little more mature they said...
Usually with RTN, corals vanish overnight or within a couple of hours. Sounds like STN which is slower, possibly over a couple of days.
First, thing to check is your salinity. Do you use an ATO or top off manually? I keep my tanks at 1.025-1.026.
Next, what is your alkalinity?
Nice thing about a Nano, a "large" water is only 10 gallons! :D
With all that hair algae and no fish, those rocks must be loaded with phosphates.
Need to:
1) Put 1 unit of Chemipute Elite in one of the baskets.
2) Weekly water changes.
3) Get the biggest Mexican Turbo snail you can find. :)
Welcome to the board!
Do not do a water change until after the tank has cycled and your nitrates start to go up. Somewhere around week 5 or 6.
I think it's a little too early in the life of the tank to run purigen and chemipure. Save that for when the tank is established and you have...
From my past experience, Premium and Champion offer the GB discounts on controllers. When these buys come around I usually get what I need like another PC4, ALC, SL1 or a float switch.
I have Reef Keepers on all my tanks. Not too hard to program from the head unit but the PC software makes it easy to do updates and program the modules from a laptop.
