Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Thanks for all the offers. Things seem to have stabilized and I have not lost anymore corals and the STN has stopped.
I did get the AI Vegas up.
I just need to come up with a way to hide the wires.
I use JBJ heaters on my tanks. Work great so far, just over a year on both tanks. Got a new 500W for the 120 and they now come with suction cups instead of the magnets. The magnets were one of the reasons I got the heaters in the first place.
I have a 20L on my 65, two things to watch for.
1) Drain down, my 65 got close to the top of the 20L, but I still had an 1-1/2" to the top.
2) Make the return section for the pump large enough that it doesn't run dry on startup when it's filling the tank.
Things did not go as well as I would have liked with the transfer. It is my fault on both counts. First was procrastination, do not setup a tank two days before you have to be out of your apartment. Second was ATO, I had everything I needed to setup the ATO, but didn't. The salinity in the 40B...
No problem, doesn't hurt to ask. I have some contacts at the Aquarium from my volunteer days. I will talk to the rest of the BOD and see if this is something that has ever been looked into.
No, as mentioned above, the Aquarium and NJAAS are two separate entities.
Would be nice to try and setup one of the monthly meeting there and do a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium. When we get the tank straightened out of course.
No thickness adjustment on the 10's like there is on the 40's. You have to play with them a little to find the "sweet spot".
I currently have four 10's running on the new 120, and I have another one waiting for install. :D
Marineland Single bright LEDs. The single bright are brighter than the double brights. You will need two fixtures for a 180, but it will be under $200.
I'm looking for 5 gal salt buckets or "Homer" buckets with lids. I want to take as much of the old water as I can, so as not to shock the corals in the new system. Needs to be small for easy transport.
And so the truth comes out, is that why you were asking if I was going to the meeting? :D...
