Could there be traces of something on your hands? Soap or something you may be in contact with at work? I've started using Nitrile gloves whenever I have to handle coral, I started this once I read the stories about Zoa's and the toxicity warnings. I'd rather be safe then in the hospital.
I've bought some other stuff from : http://www.acmeplastics.com
They are in Woodland Park. I'm not sure if they cut, but I'm sure most people walking out of that place would have the ability to.
You are correct, the red line will be the "normal" operation for QT, water goes from the DT to the drain. I currently do about 1/2 to 1 gallon water change a day, so I'll get a auto water changer in the QT during the QT time. I will have the option to close that if I choose to medicate and...
So as mentioned before, I'm starting to plan on my dream build. Of course, just when my 45 cube is stable and looking good. This is going to be a very slow build as we are having our kitchen and living room gutted and redone and that at best will not be done till the summer. Along with...
I've switch to Red Sea Pro as well, i like them as there are basically only 2 colors your need to watch for. I've tested the Alk against my Hanna and they are both within tolerance of each other.
I'm planning out my sump room and I've been looking to use the hangers in the picture but I've been unable to find what they are called. Anyone know?

Thanks for the info. Interesting as I just watched the video on the coralvue.com website which was from BRS, and at about 8:04, the rep says there are "never holes in the bottom". I guess he needs a update on the tanks.
Thanks Mike, yes been there a few times, but I always end up talking and buying other things, never looking at the bottom. :D
Thanks for the info. This should work very nicely for what I have planned.
This is normal. It's also the reason people time dosers to dose at night as the Alk will raise PH. I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as your tank is looking good. I've been running Kalk with ATO for a year now. As a general rule, you just don't want the PH to change PH by +/- .20...
Just make sure you support the plumbing so the weight isn't on the glass. I also put a Flexible Pipe Connectors between 2 pipes to allow the down tubes some wiggle room in case of an accidentally bump.
I'm sure a 6 pack of beer will get someone to help you. You can also call a glass shop to...
The wife and I are going to do a pretty significant remodel in our home. With that will go a larger tank!! I have been very happy with my current 45 gallon cube, but it's time to go larger.
I'm eyeing the Elos 120, and planning on having everything in a fish room (i.e. the laundry room)...
I do the same procedure as Malulu, whom I got the idea from. But use 2 brute 20 gallons and 1 gallon a day on the litermeter to my 45.
For the RO, I am auto feeding my ato via solenoid valves and a apex controller. So have additional solenoids to turn on the water supply to the ro holding...
I just bought into this:

I get home to late from work to make it to classes and I can't run due to foot issues so this was very attractive to me. They opened up a store front at the short hills mall.
