Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Make sure the breather tube (sticking out of the street elbow) is down in the drain. I only have about 3/4 to 1" sticking out of the elbow, the rest of the tube is down in the drain.
We did lose one of them and there is one that is still very critical. The rest are all puffing back up and look to be on the rebound! :D I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow.
Your KZ fiji pink is what you are missing. Ecoxotic has magenta stunner strips but I do not know anyone who sells magenta 3W stars. Might be something to look into. If you can find 3W stars, you might be able to replace some of the cool whites with magenta. RapidLED sells Violet UV stars, but I...
Time for an update!
All fish and coral are in and the BioCube and 20L have been taken down. I'm still in the process of light acclimation of the corals and have two frag racks in the tank. One rack I'm using for grow out and the other I'm slowly raising to help with the acclimation. Once...
:D
That's exactly what I did, filled with water, let it get up to temp and then added salt. When salt was good I added my cured (live) plates and dumped a bottle of bio-spira in and let it cook for a week or two and then started moving the soft corals and fish, then LPS and SPS last.
Yep, that looks like a Zoo eating Naudi. I battled them for almost two months in my BioCube. I would wait till lights out and check the tank with a flashlight and use an eye dropper to suck out the adults. I also did weekly dips of all my frags and removed quite a few egg clusters. Look for...
There is a glass shop right next to Sed Sand in Dunellen. That is where I got the glass for both of my sumps. I brought the tank there, they cut the glass and fit it to the width of the tank. I just told them how many and how tall I wanted the glass for each section.
Location of the fan in relation to the fins of the heatsink is everything with heat transfer. Have you ever seen a computer with a heatsink mounted on the CPU and the fan mounted under the motherboard? ;)
I also have my returns "up" near the bottom of the teeth on the overflow. If I should bump a return, and for some reason not notice, I have a check valve on there as a little extra protection.
Welcom to the world of Salt! 40 breeders are a popular tank for doing a shallow reef. The 18" front to back gives good depth for aquascaping. I have my 40B as a fish only system.
