I've used this but stopped because I heard it could throw things out of wack. Plus it drops back down as soon as I stop using it. I know the whole closed windows can cause it to be low but they've been open up until 2 days ago.

I know people say don't chase the pH but mine is LOW. It's normally 7.8 but now its more like 7.4. I don't even know how things are staying colored up and growing in these conditions. I'm thinking if I can get the pH to a more reasonable level things will start growing more so than they are now...

I would pull the rock if it wasn't at the bottom of the stack with a piece of pvc running through the middle of it. I'll give the Kalk and snipping a try. Hopefully it melts back, or atleast stops growing and the digi over grows it.

If you identify the area's it might work if you scuff the area with a coarse sandpaper prior to application.

I run one reefbreeder value led fixture w/ 90 degree optics. As of now I'm running whites @75% & blues @100%. Tried going higher on the whits but my sps at the very top of the tank started to look pale so I brought it back down. So far I'm happy with the colors I'm getting.

Does ammonia really kick start a cycle faster than the shrimp method? Something about adding a cleaner to my tank makes me cringe. LOL. On a side note, if you shake it and it foams up its no good. Most people seem to recommend Ace Ammonia Janitorial grade.

I wouldn't say to aggressive at all. How is your skimmer running? They say when you add that, being its a detergent it makes your skimmer go wacky. If you are going to acid bath the rock and trash the sand, why not just do a 100% water change and start fresh for good measure?

I have a Over powering powerhead in the middle pointing up not pointing at anything Inparticular. Just making strong flow. Then I have under powered ones just to move some of the dead spots. You'd be surprised how much flow you get just from it bouncing off of the glass. None of my powerheads...
