I agree with putting them in the shade. I lost color in my chalices when I switched to LED's. Now they are either partially shaded or all the way down.

Not to highjack the thread, but how are people's experience with the tube extension? Is it easy to use or is it a pain?

Sometimes this could be bad. When I had the 75 gal with the larger clowns, they grabbed shrimp that I was trying to introduce into the tank and put them in the nem. :dejection: Luckily they only did it when the shrimp was in the water column. If they reached the rock, they were safe.

I would say leave it in the shaded area and see if it starts to color up again. Maybe it's not a fan of the LED's

What I do is get freshly cut or just break it off the plug and glue it directly to the rock. I'm not a fan of having plugs on the rockwork. I think I have a total of 2 or three plugs in my rockwork and they have been there for so long that they are covered up or blend in.
