Tying into the Basement - Pic Intensive

Sure. You're going to the meeting next week, right? If so, put together some idea of what you're looking for and we'll go over it. Once we have a basic plan I'll draw something up.

    Plumbing....Basement sumps

Yeah, Arvind is right, I'd suggest going with some larger sizes. Here are a couple of recommendations: Since you have a bit of a run from the sump to the pump, I'd go with 2" PVC and maybe two 45* fittings instead of each 90*. This way you ensure a nice flow of water into the pump. Next, I'd...

    More than 1 addiction

Well Matt, stock up on your liver medication and try to come to one! From what I hear they are a lot of fun. (I'm pretty sure I've been to just about every meeting but have very little memory of them!)

    GB Live Rock

Ours is still curing. I have no idea if it's ready yet or not. We're not in a rush to get it in the tank so we've been kind of dragging our feet. When we do go with it, we'll probably wind up doing a ton of reaquascaping and that just never any fun!

    Plumbing....Basement sumps

Darn Arvin you beat me to it! I went to copy the link and when I came back it was already posted ;D Taz, let me know if you have any questions. I just realized that you're going to be swinging by here to pick up your inverts, so I can give you the full tour when you get here if you want.

    Micro Micro Micro Bubbles!

We just tried that elbow 50% above the water line that Phyl posted the link to. We did it with the drain from our fuge and the drain from our main. The fuge has a pretty low flow rate (probably ~300gph) and it works great. On the main it's not a viable option. We're pushing 1200gph through the...

    Opinions on overflow vs. RR

I'm putting it on a 125. I'm not sure what size the overflow box needs to be, though. Steve, if you're following this thread, what size box did you make for the one in the link? And is it the same size you'd recommend to put on the SIDE of a 125 (24hx18d)?
