    Tasty Tail

I'd guess it's the Tang doing it to each other or possibly the Trigger.

    Cleaner shrimp on sale

I used to have 2 Cleaners with a Coral Banded and there were no issues. So, it's possible, maybe depends on tank size.

    The 210 tank build

Definitely wow for the urchin, never seen one with anything close to that color. Closest was a Halloween, brown & orange.

    Raising pH

Your Alk is a little low too. Try raising that up from 7 to somewhere between 8 - 12 and maybe the ph will rise too. I believe my ph is lower when my alk is low.

South 'west' Jersey needs more LFS

Agreed. AC has virtually no competition. Aquarium Discount and In Living Color went out of business, and Value Pets declined, AC is now basically it. Fish selection is really good, just corals are way over priced and really not impressive. When In Living Color opened, it was so nice to have...

What lights are you running and what's your experience with them?

Metal Halide & VHO for me. I've got (2) - 250 Watt SE MH's and (2) 110 Watt VHO's. My ballasts are just the cheapo DIY Advance Magnetic ballasts, I got from the hellolights with a standard 46.5" reflector. I've played around with bulbs, started with 10K XM, then each year tried a different...

What part of NJ do you live?

In Blackwood Estates, right near Sam's Bar & Grill. What part of Blackwood are you in?

My tank crashed big time while I was away, I'm sad

I didn't notice a phosphate test result, unless I missed it. That could be feeding the hair algae. I've read of others that had issues after switching salt mixes, so maybe.

What to do with a large coral that won't fit in the tank?

If it were me, I'd break it up so I have a nice piece that fits my tank. Then I'd put the remainder up for grabs.

    Silly beginner question

I've had them pop off the rocks too. I've also cut my green hairy shrooms and they just grow back from whatever is left. They're very hardy.

Time to Thin Out - Frags F/S

Fragged the hammer, here's the actual frag for sale - $15. I'm lowering the Green Mushroom frag - $5, you can see it to the right of the hammer with the star rapping around it. Sorry for the crappy photo, the glass needs to be clean and I just stirred up the tank. The tiny Frogspawn is free...

    Reef in a cookie jar

That's crazy. I'd imagine that would be a lot of work with no forgiveness for being lazy. Does look really cool.

Time to Thin Out - Frags F/S

I've got some corals in need of fragging. One is a large Purple/Green Tip Torch, the other is a Hammer. I'm either going to frag for the August meeting or take them to the LFS. I prefer to frag for members. I just don't have the room to store any frags. Let me know if anybody is interested...
