Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Hopefully this is the place for this. Is anybody interested in a frag of the green/purple torch? It's the one in the middle with both green and purple tips. If there's any interest, I'll try breaking off some frags & bring them to the meeting. They'd probably be around $15-$30 depending on...
Hey Jim, curious what time you were fishing yesterday? We're going out to the Ocean City bays tomorrow between 8am - 12am. Hope we can catch some keepers, too.
Darren and Company did an excellent job with this meeting. Beautiful store you guys have. Nice to see some of the rarer fish in person. Food was great on top of it. Staff was very friendly, too.
Bob, It was labeled as a Frianti star (Reef Safe) at the LFS. After researching, I found the name Nardoa Frianti was the full name and the photos matched. So, I assume that's what I've got. I haven't seen any Stomatella's for years in my tank, so couldn't tell you if mine eats them too...
Is your tank covered? Is there anywhere that it could have jumped through if it is? I believe they are potential jumpers. If you haven't already, try and look on the floor around the tank. Are there any other fish that might be causing it to hide. It does take some fish a few weeks to...
Hawkeye - Thanks. It's actually a Nardoa Frianti star. It's really cleaned them up, I don't see many asterinas anymore. It will take algae too, if I place it under it's stomach and it hasn't bothered a single coral or my clam.
Not sure if this is the tank you were looking to add another Tang to, but I wouldn't recommend adding any other fish to it while this is going on.
Like the others said, the best way to eradicate it would be the removal of the fish for a while, but didn't sound like that's what you wanted to do.
Many many years ago, I had a few fish pop up with what appeared to be ich. I spoaked in some Seachem Metronidazole with the food for a while and it seemed to help. Maybe it would have gone away on it's own, but who knows. I didn't see any ill effects on anything. You could try that or maybe...
I got mine in Mt. Holly at Methvin's Glass, but any glass place should be able to do it. I wanted 1/4" thick. If you need smaller pieces and 1/8", Lowes & HD should have it, you'll just have to use an emory cloth to sand the edges so you don't cut yourself.
I'm currently running a Mag-Drive 9.5 as my return pump with an eshoppes dual overflow (twin 1" outlets). I was originally running a Mag-Drive 18 with the same overflow box. The MD-18 worked fine for years, I just had to be more on top of cleaning the u-tubes of algae, since it was near the...
I'm currently running an SCA-302 on my 90 and very happy with it. It's pretty much a clone of the NAC7, just a tiny bit smaller. From what I've heard, the NAC7 is a very nice skimmer. From my experience, there will always be a skimmer that is supposed to be better, just depends on how much...
Running two down is probably easiest. If you're gonna tee them together, just keep in mind, you'll probably have to increase the size of the common pipe, so it can handle the flow from the two.
