+1, I've been using this same skimmer (SCA-302) on my 90 and am very happy with it. Great skimmer at a low cost.
For the sand, I'd recommend getting finer stuff. I went too large with mine and wish I hadn't. I didn't realize the stuff I got came in two sizes. I thought I was adding the same...
Unless you're selling something that requires a specific environment, like established tank, large tank, etc., I do what the above have said. If somebody's a no-show or keeps pushing it off (like over a week), then I'll go down the list by first come first serve. You can usually tell if...
I guess I worded the above poorly. First, she doesn't have special needs, she's completely healthy. Her needs that I'm referring to are lots of attention. She loves it and we really don't give her much. My wife and kids pretty much ignore her and I'm out most of the day. So, she's not...
I had posted about her in a previous post a few months ago. After some thought, it would be better for us and her if she went to somebody who has the time to meet her needs. We just don't have the time to give her the attention she needs. My condition has been that I didn't want her going to...
I did some fraggin to make some room, I've got 2 green with purple tip frogspawn and a neon yellow/green candy cane. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the candy cane is very bright. Looking for $30 for the Candy Cane (9 heads) and $30 each for the Frogspawn. It's hard to count the heads...
I just went with the dry on mine too. Definitely rinse the dry to remove any floating debris. I've added dry sand to my established tank over the years by pouring a cup into a siphon tube and waiting for most to settle before moving the tube to the next spot. It kept the cloudyness down.
Yes. I usually tread lightly until a month or 2 have passed. I've had fish eat and look great for almost 2 months, then die the next day. It' very discouraging.
From my experience, it isn't uncommon for a fish to die during the 1st month. Even if they're eating great. It's possible that the Maroon did it, but you'd probably see signs of it. If the other fish are all fine, then it might have just been something with the handling or collecting...
Not exactly sure the full story, but it sounds like you've got the majority of what you need. Keep in mind, you'll almost always need something.
If the rock is to go in an already established tank or one with fish or corals, I'd recommend adding it over a week or so. Add some, then check for...
I use baking soda for alk in my tank. Just mix it with fresh RO water until it's clear than add to tank in sump. In my 90, I usually use 6 tsp mixed in a kent carbon container, every 3 - 4 days.
Yeah, agreed. Your CA and Alk levels are too low. Could also be the intensity of the new lights, maybe too much shock from a sudden change. But, definitely work on getting the CA and Alk up. Calcium is definitely low, but alkilinity is really low, that's probably why you're having trouble...
