That stinks...You can only do so much to protect. I was over a fellow reefers house checking out his tank and netting one day and while he was talking about why he just pit the netting on that past weekend his goby jumped right through the hole in front of our eyes and landed in the overflow...

If there is a sandbed in there that is blowing around, you better try just one. If your tank is barebottom and the water is staying in the tank, Let 'em flow!
Not sure how much coral you have in there now, but I would give a close look. If you are "stocked" I would consider dipping all or at least examining more closely.

I do believe while it isn't made for a reef, it is reef safe to a point, only in very small doses though. There was a member on here years ago who used it and my brother used it after him with no ill results from what we could tell

I am surprised to hear that, I have always thought and read that RO membranes usually gets 4:1. I hope it is working correctly. Did you check TDS? Also, you may not get 1:1, the problem will be that you will not be able to get the proper pressure to the second membrane if you put it inline...
