Basement?! BASEMENT?!?!
I thought WE had agreed it would stay in the living room. ;)
No problem with the ((ahem)) help...It was pretty easy eating pizza and drinking beer. I enjoy these tank moves more and more!
I would draw water for the skimmer out of the first chamber. The fuge should be in the middle chamber, the skimmer can dump into that if possible. As far as the MR2 goes, it can be used either in sump or out of the sump, but to get the best performance out of it I would use an external pump. I...
Welcome, Mark!
You will get lots of good advice here! Try and make it to a meeting. They are a LOT of fun, and a great learning experience. You can grab lots of nice ideas from all the different systems you see.
Welcome, Obi!
The best advice I can give (which I still have trouble following!) is have patience. Nothing good comes fast in this hobby.
Good luck with the new tank!
I spread it out over 3 days. Which was really still too fast, but I wanted results and I wanted them NOW! If you knew my tank situation, you would understand. I can say that my zoo's didn't like it at all. My yellow scroll coral isn't happy either. My toadstool leather turned a wicked...
Dave, I'm pretty sure you can only fire 4 T5's off of the 660 no matter what the wattage of the bulbs are. Overdriving means exactly that, it will overdrive the output of the bulb. I know my 54 watt T5's are overdriven to about 80 watts on an Ice Cap 660.
It's the truth! I just did it in my tank. It was COVERED in Bryopsis. I upped my Magnesium to 1500 and 4 days later my tank was almost completely clear of it. It was pretty amazing to see...I wish I would have taken some before and after photo's. ::)
The first picture, *might* be Bryopsis...although I could be wrong, I don't know what kind of snail that is in the second pic...the third picture looks like a mysis shrimp, the last looks like a spaghetti worm.
Those are my best guesses!
Have you read the reviews for that pump? A few people state that it only lasts about a year before it dies. If they are stainless steel screws and submersed, they shouldn't rust. Mag-Drive pumps have metal screws and I've never had them rust.
I did this on my old 120. You can also make a little shelf on the back of the stand and put the pump on there. I had a wooden stand, so it was pretty easy to make something to hold the pump.
