    Colonial Hydroids!!!

I do not have any real world experience with colonial hydroids, but this article talks about them in depth and sites some top shell snails and nudibranches eat them. http://www.reefs.org/library/aquarium_net/1097/1097_2.html Nudibranch learchis poica is reported to be one of them, but I have...

What does RO/DI and Kati Ani miss?

I wanted to ask what contaminants are missed by standard RO/DI and Kati Ani units. If it is different, please identify which one. I am defining contaminants, as anything that would be considered undesireable for a reef tank.

Candy Canes and MH 150 Lighting

FWIW - I keep a candy cane under 150 MH, and it is doing great. (Lowest 3rd of the tank) As already stated, the light acclimation is likely the cause.

    Good Frag Bags

I know you were asking about bags, but another option for small frags is specimen cups. In my opinion, they have pluses and minuses depending on what corals you will be fragging, and if you plan to ship them. Just giving another possible option...

    Aquarium Controller Reviews?

Thanks for the input. I frankly want to control as much as possible. That said, my initial focus was on pumps/lights, and a way to have the system detect water on the floor shut down the pumps and send an alert. Also the standard PH and Temp probes.

    TDS Level

I was testing my tap water today after I received my TDS meter, and it came back at 120. Is this average for tap water? Can someone give me ranges for Green/Yellow/Red TDS levels?

    LCD TV Wall mounts?

I installed a wall mount telescoping arm for my LCD in my basement. I attached it right to the cinder block. I would just caution how you mount telescoping arms. The screws they provide can be sub par, and the directions will sometimes lead you to believe you can mount these in ways that will...

    Thinking about an Orange Linkia

I do not understand why exposure to air would cause mortality. I did read that they could have an air bubble trapped in their mouth, but I struggle to understand why an animal such as a starfish would have trouble releasing an air bubble from its mouth. Is there anyone who has further insight...

    Cyano

My tiger sand conch (Strombus Sp.) took care of my cyano, and does a great cleanup job in the tank. Something to consider, if you do not have one.

45 Gallon Custom Marinland Cube Tank Build

Good Luck with your build! I have always heard Tunze make good compact skimmers, but I have no direct experience with them, so do not go by my word alone.
