When you say that the water from the 55 was topped off with "all ro", do you mean ro/di which you used to mix saltwater yourself? When you did your water change, we're you using ro or ro/di? When was it?
What salt mix are you using? Did you use live rock (cycled) and live sand for this tank...
That is a very interesting thought. For the life of me, I cannot get mine to bubble. The last time I had a bubbled anem, I was running my 20g before the 2009 tank crash.
I did feed that one krill, but I have not since done more than target fed my anems with pieces of krill, at most.
I generally agree with Phil. Small gradual changes in SG that over time add up to large changes won't usually kill a fish. That said, it all depends on what level the SG of water got to. It comes down to the fish's ability to osmoregulate. The higher the SG, the more a fish has to work to...
Skimmers for nanos are tough to find.
Our 12 g nano runs without a skimmer. as far as carbon, I suggest chemipute elite. If your corals are ok with a blackout period of 36-48 hours, then that can be very helpful as well.
I try to do at least 20% weekly water changes.
Welcome, Megs!
We have had hair algae problems with our 12g nano before. Are you running power compact lights?
Are you using a skimmer? Anything to remove phophsphates? Any carbon?
It is a pain in the neck, but manual removal of hair algae (literally put the rock in a bucket of water and...
Mike and I have made the decision to break down the 20g; as such, the green bubble tip anem is up for adoption.
Is is a captive raised split that we got from Don (tazmaniancoyboy) over the summer.
It is free to a good home, pick up in point pleasant.
Be warned that the rock it is currently...
I have bristle worms in my tanks. The only tank where I routinely attempt to remove them is in my 12g nano- and that is because they can go after very small fish or inverts. In anything other than a small nano, I would not be concerned at all.
I agree with bob that arrow crabs can be...
