I have had brittle stars regenerate in a tank. If the star has a crack in its leg, it is possible (but by no means certain) that the parameters in your tank could be more stable, and the animal will need the most stable conditions possible to regenerate.
Lol, thanks James. We love the anem, we're glad someone else will get to enjoy having this beautiful animal in their tanks (and we're glad it isn't 24"x12" anymore- it was one big anem!)
Hello all,
Well, I looked in our 30g tank today, and what did I see, but two rose bubble tips. What does that mean? It means that we once again have a rose bubble tip that is up for adoption (for the second time in 2 weeks)! So, if you would like to give this guy a home, let mike and I know...
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your tank. Is there anything that could have stirred up your sandbed (it looks like crushed coral, which can be full of nasty gunk after a 5 year period)? Any animal losses (other than the frogspawn)?
Any chance something is leaching phosphates...
I have had 2 Pygmy angels, both have behaved with sps and lps, although this is no guarantee that another would be as well behaved. As far as clowns go, I agree that you can mix ocellaris with true percula.
I suggest you buy a small juvinile fish to reduce the possibility of fighting.
I agree...
With a 25g nano with two fish, you have a pretty good number of options. Like brandon said, you can pair your clown. You will want to look for a small juvenile fish if you take that route, as it is more than possible that your single clown is now a girl. Is your tank covered? If it is, an...
We have it under t5 lighting currently. It has also done fine under led lighting and metal halide.
We have it in a 45g cube; it was previously in a 30g cube.
And by that he means if your wife forgets to monitor things like evaporation. I think reusing water from the dt in the qt is a good idea. The only thing I would say relates to evaporation- you will still need to monitor evaporation in the small qt.
Good luck!
I got an anem from Taz too.
It is the anem residing in my 20g tank :)
Mine came to me from Taz in august about 3" across, and is expanding fast- it is about 4" already.
Introducing multiple unrelated anemones into a small tank will result in biological warfare.
However, it is possible to keep multiple anemones in the same tank if they are captive raised "splits". What do I mean by this? I mean that you would be looking for one or more anemones that had...
Sounds like a good plan.
My concern with the sand wasn't it's re-use, but its re-use given the fact that a crash had occurred.
My sand went anaerobic after one crash. After another, it was totally disgusting- slimy and smelly. I found it better to discard than attempt to clean, but hat...
I tnk it is a good idea to scrap the sand. You will waste time trying to clean it, if you clean with RO you will lose the bacteria anyway. With the rock, making sure it isn't leaching anything is a good idea. Do you know what kinds of corals were in the tak before? I ask becuase some palys...
