Dan's 150 Rebuild

Too good to be true. The newbie kid I was talking with gave me his companies price for that sheet and not the list price! 1/2" is like $200 for a sheet 4x8ft and 3/8" for a 4x5ft would cost me $150. I'm just gonna order it online. A lot cheaper

I know but they didn't have 1/4" and then they said they didn't have 3/8" so we landed on 1/2". I can order it online, shipped to my door for like $75 in 1/4". I'm probably just gonna do that

Nope just raw cut. I think that you will still get stuck buying a wholr sheet though. What they have is called kingboard or something like that but it is pretty much the same stuff.

Here's my fuge. Sand bed is about 2-3" deep but you can't tell bc of the stand

Could I potentially put livestock in here?

It seems relatively small so any livestock short of what Pete mentioned had the risk of getting tossed with and macro growth or at the very least left with an even smaller area to roam around as macro grows.

IMO I wouldn't put anything but macro in there and let it do its thing. Any life that wants to be there will pretty much show up on its own.

Yeah it is pretty tiny. I was planning on stocking it with a couple different types of macro so I guess that'll do.

When I was using my 4" socks, I'd swap em out after a few days when the water level starting to rise inside the sock. Well now I'm using 7" filter socks and they've been in there for like 2-3wks. When should I replace them since they don't seem like they're gonna get clogged anytime soon???

Wait.....aren't you fishless right now? There's no crap to clog up that sock. Wait until you get fish in there. You'll be cussing these socks as well. I have seven inch socks and sometimes I'll get a week out of them and other times, maybe three days.

Yes it is empty at the moment but I have been cleaning up the inside little by little and there's ton of debris to be picked up. Thought maybe they should have clogged by now. Oh well :)

The way I look at it is those socks are catching organics and the longer you leave them in there the more chance there is for it to find its way back into your water. I try to change then every three or four days whether they are clogged or not.

That's what I was thinking of exactly. I guess when it comes time to add livestock I'll make it more of a point to swap them out.

So I've been working open to close all week bc my boss is on vaca. Haven't done anything with the tank nor have I even ordered my starboard yet. I'm slacking big time. I honestly thought I would have had this thing back up and running 100% by now. Oh well.

I'm wondering what kind of livestock to go with.. Tangs? Angels? Both?
