    Toadstool coral not opening

My toadstool has been in the same spot in my aquarium, and happy for several months. It has not extended any polyps in several weeks. It has close up in the past for a few days here and there, but it’s been well over 2 weeks. Should I dip it in iodine solution? Should I wait it out a little...

I have reefbreeder photon v2. Thanksfor asking. My Dino problem has improved dramatically lately. Rock and sand look pretty clean. Coral are still looking pretty mediocre. I have put the lights back to manufactures recommended acclimation settings today. I have to work on getting better coral...

I did put in 1/2 dose of waist-away as well. If the water doesn’t cloud, or any adverse effects, I’ll do a full dose in a week.

Yea. I don’t mind swapping out a few socks. I’ll try to syphon the water throhht the sock while stirring it up.

So far, so good as far as Dino. The Dino’s did not come back. No3, and Po4 shot up last week. A couple small water changes & back to gfo & carbon. Po4 came back down to acceptable level. No3 is still a little elevated, but slightly improved. I still have a tone of loose detritus and sludge...

I don’t want to speak too soon, but the Dino problem is cleared up. My coral look very good. There is a slight haze to the water. Might be from lack of activated carbon, or it could be a temporary bacteria bloom, from the bio pellet reactor. It doesn’t concern me.

    Etmanning’s Frag Tank (40B)

    Etmanning’s Frag Tank (40B)

I like the pvc clam stand. Did the clam attach to it? I’m quite interested in adding a clam soon.

About 10. They are about 10 now. Dinox doesn’t seem to effect any known parameters, but it seems to be effective. We’ll see what happens when I stop. Hopefully it doesn’t come right back.

The rock and sand bed look nice and clean. I’m 8 doses in. I’m going to do the maximum of 10 doses/21 days of DinoX dosing. It seems to be working and it doesn’t seemto be hurting anything else. Last dose will be on the 22nd. I’ll put my activated carbon back in on the 24th. I will not go back...

    New new 40 breed

This candy cane would be nothing to brag about, but it’s the best it’s ever looked since I got it in June. It used to be 5 heads, but I only managed to save 3. It was a discount coral when I bought it, because it wasn’t in such great shape. I am very happy it’s finally coming around.

    Thinking of changing salt

I just dropped Red Sea corral pro, and went to Red Sea blue bucket. I think the CP’s alk was a bit to much for my system. Only did 2 waterchanges so far since the switch. my coral are responding favorably. I do like the way Red Sea brand mixes in general. A few hours mixing and it’s clear and...

    Fish loss

Update on my 2 new yellow gobies. The goby that moved in with the pistol shrimp, has grown quite a bit. The other goby is looking heathly, and grew a little less. The slightly larger goby has become less aggressive toward the other goby, so it looks like they can coincide. They have been...

    Dynoflagellates

My dynos are almost gone. I have done 6 doses of DynoX. I will continue till 10 doses. I dose one 10 mil. dose every other day, 1 hour after the lights go out. I have not changed my lighting duration or intensity. I did remove my carbon, and am skimming wet. My bio pellet reactor has been...

That is not as big of an issue for me. I only have a 40 breeder.

    Dynoflagellates

I’ll get something small from the lfs to take care ot this short term, but I will take that into consideration for future dosing requirements. I saw the brs video. That does look a cheap, safe and easy way.

    Dynoflagellates

Hmm. While we’re getting off the topic of the thread, I just read mad reefer thread & decided to check my parameters as well. My cal is also a bit low, at 360. I have never had to dose before, as my previous tank was a softies only. Now I have mixed reef. My alk is pretty good at 9.2. So I just...

Me too. I hope the stuff doesn’t come back when I stop dosing. This stuff can grow back quick, but at least my coral are getting healthier. I don’t think they were in good enough condition to survive an extended blackout. This is why I went this rout.
