Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
we used to have a member here that bred discus. They were really cool. The babies would eat the "mucus" off the mommy. Anyways - rockwork looks great. I remember my first try - it was like soooo ugly lol.
Good luck with the build. looking forward to it.
Joe - welcome! The swap is coming up too - that's our meeting with a ton more people, raffles and also vendors. I like to think of it as a meeting on major steroids...(without any negative side effects except your wallet being lighter)
+1. I have two of them - one for each of my tanks. Never had one get stuck, never had a tank run out of water - been on vacation many many times and always had peace of mind.
Service is flawless if you ever have a problem or need help - Roger @Tunze in Austin TX is the man.
hahah haven't used one of these since early 90s when bleached coral and Underwater Gravel Filters were the rage.

Skimmer or biopellets would help. But I don't see any slime in that pic. Set up looks sweet! Congrats!
you're not overloaded on fish imho - but straining the frozen food is probably a good idea. I don't think you need a full cube - do you? You're probably giving them a buffet every day lol.
No clue on the coral. The red slime will only diminish once the amount of nutrients in the tank is less than your tanks ability to uptake it. As an interim I'd just siphon it off as much as possible. Removing the bacteria is a useful way of getting rid of the nutrient, but it's stop gap...
Yeah he's open. Drive by everyday on my way to/from work. :) It's not the best signage, it's next to a store "international deli". For a bigger landmark - if you see the Dunellen theater on the corner (across the street from the railroad station) - keep heading down on that side of the...
john - a long time ago (before hurricane sandy came) i was interested in a hawkins/grinch. if you still have either let me know. I will help you defer some costs for the swap. ;)
