Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So sorry Brian and Debbie. I know how hard that decision is. And even how much worse going through with it is. It's one of the roughest things I've ever experienced. But in the end, you have to know that you absolutely did the right. Don't tarnish your good memories by questioning whether or not...
Congrats Steve! That delivery story sounds all too famliar seeing as Sierra born at 105mph on the Parkway (somewhere aound mile marker 99) and Zach was almost born on Broad Street in Red Bank (Phyl was rushed straight past the ER and just barely made it to the delivery room). I know EXACTLY how...
Thanks to a recent and unexpected change in my employement status, this may be a full circle thing for us too. We had our first meeting just after we started out in reefing and will be significantly scaling back right after this meeting . . .
In the next few days I'm going to inventory all of...
I'm so sorry to hear about this Brian and Debbie. I know how close you are with your puppies. It's such a tough decision to have to make but I'm sure you'll do the right thing. Just be a peace with it and know that it was the right thing to do.
I think the general rule of thumb in the beginning is to not dose something you can't test for. You should be able to be successful by maintaining a good water change schedule.
The 7095 does a great wave. No wave box required. I can give you the settings for it if you want. I set mine up in two seconds and was blown away by the wave I got from one Tunze on either end of the tank.
Looks great Chris! Now let me think . . . where have I seen this setup before?!?
I hope you glued those fittings on the manifold really well. They're so close together that if one leaks you either need to rebuild the whole thing or get really good at taking them apart with a pair of pliers and...
We're also working through a light acclimation process. We'll probably start turing the 10K's on at around 3 to give them an addition hour of "growth" lights.
I have both. The Tunzes are in the tank, the Vortech is in a box under the cabinet collecting dust. Personally, I didn't like the vortech. It's inability to direct flow was my biggest problem with it. That and the fact that it wasn't controllable. I know they've changed than with the recent...
What we do (and works really well) is use a combination of putty and super glue. First, use crazy glue and accelerator to attach the coral to a frag plug or piece of rubble. The mix up some putty so the two parts are thoroughly blended. Flatten it out and put a small amount of crazy glue on it...
That's great Lou! One thing to keep an eye on is any bleaching due to the increased light. As a matter of fact, you may want to start off by reducing your light cycle and then slowly bring it back up. This may help avoid any problems resulting from your new found "brightness" :)
I like your aquascaping. It works really well with that tank. I was a little skeptical after the first pic but it's really shaping up nicely.
Keep the progress pics coming!
