Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Bummer Jim. That's really freaky looking but IME not really that bad for your inhabitants. The cloudiness will go away on its own. The only thing you may need to do is put in a power head (or re-angle the ones already in your tank) to get everything back into suspension as some of the...
You can count on us to help out. Just let us know when and we'll be there.
I always thought that Friends of Dorothy was urban legend. I guess not! BTW: Not a personal Friend of Dorothy's but I know quite a few of her acquaintances!
They look like Tulip Anemones to me. I'll have to find Momof6's thread about them. She had them and didn't get rid of them right away and they completely took over her tank, killing everything they touched.
Here is the main thread. This post has a pretty good pic of them.
I've been going with Phyl to her office in E. Brunswick lately. Yesterday as we pulled off Milltown Road and onto Rt 18 I saw a store with a "sunburst" of swords in the front window and thought "Hey! That's got to be Roy's father's place". Sure enough, it is. It's about 30 seconds away from her...
I'd be tickled pink with a pH of 8.14. We run a kalk reactor (as well as a Ca reactor) and our pH hovers around 8.0 on the high side. The one thing you may want to do is adjust your Ca reactor to bring your effluent up. 6.4 is pretty low coming out of it. Actually, you may want to check the side...
Looks great, Justin. I thought some of those coral looked familiar! I'm glad to see everyone is settling in well. It was good seeing you on Saturday and nice to see you back around here. Keep the updates coming.
Welcome to the addiction! It looks like you're off to a great start. Just take it slow and read, read, read and read some more. Ask a lot of questions and be patient and it'll save a lot of lives, money and heartaches.
Good luck and welcome again.
What are you going to use to control the solenoid? Something like and ATO float switch? I have both set up and they both seem to work very well knock on wood. The float valve is definitely a lot cheaper (like $20), whereas the solenoid will run you around $50 and the float switch will be about...
So, I was doing a little math and tomorrow is going to be a lot like a speed dating session! The meeting is approximately 5 hours long. That's 300 minutes. With around 80 people here, that only gives you about 3 minutes and 45 seconds to spend with each person! And forget it if a kid interrupts...
I am so psyched for this! I may pull the cover off the pool so we can have the Polar Bear Belly Flop Contest. Of course with Matt on the RSVP list, none of us have a chance!
