Are you doing anything special with the overflows (painting or tinting them) or will you leave them clear like that?

Sitting on the couch with a cold beer in your hand I'm sure will be a million times easier than building a riser, lifting and moving that tank. That tank just looks heavy, it's a giant wall of glass. LoL :D

I found a place that sells 12"x13" mats for $5 so no big deal. I'll have enough for both my tanks and leftover for anyone else that wants some for their G-H overflow.

My standard Pine AGA stands are 28" high. Sit on a chair or couch and look at the tank, that's how most people enjoy their tank. :)

I justified my RO/DI system to my wife by doing a side by side Nitrate test on the tap water and the RO. I asked her if she wants to drink the Chlorine, Metals and Nitrates in the water. She never questioned it again. ;)

Is it is plastic? You might be able to find a nylon replacement washer at Lowes or HD (Delrin would be a better replacement, you will not find these at Lowes or HD) If it ceramic, you will have to order one.

Skimmer + Group Buy = Win! I bought my one Reef Octo from a group buy and the other when Marine Depot had a killer sale on the Reef Octo 4" skimmer. Wait and save for a good skimmer, or wait for a sale to come around, it will be worth it in the long run.

It depends on two things. Time of the year and where you live. In the winter my water is in the 130's but during the summer it jumps up to 180-190.
