Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I battled low ph since the start of my tank a year and 1/2 ago. The only way for me to keep ph up was adding a kalk reactor. I tried 2-part for a bit but ended up over dosing and had a mini crash. Many use 2 part, but just need to be careful. Kalk is pretty much set it forget it in the ato.
I read, but not tried that if you point a power head at it, it will move and then release easier. Another one is make a RO/DI Ice cube and then touch the base. Use this at your own risk :nervous
Taz - I'm jealous you can get dizzy pig locally. I order 5 lbs packs just to make it thru the summer!
Just did a 10 hour brisket on Friday and finally polished it off this evening.
I use to make my own rubs, but I couldn't get near the flavor of DP, so I stopped. Plus I started to find...
If you guys haven't try it, I highly recommend getting some Dizzy pig dry rub. Around here only via mail order but the stuff is amazing.
I'm an egg head, anyone else?
There was a fairly length thread on RC about the use of it. If I recall the message, many people had success with it and was stating it was a much much cheaper dip given the concentration used and the cost.
Remember dips do not kill eggs. So even if you dip you are at risk unless you qt for about 2 weeks to see if egg hatch. Unless you know how to spot the eggs via a loupe or a good set of eyes, I don't so I qt my coral now. I dip then, into a small qt tank.
Getting Air into the water is first prority. Getting water movement 2nd if you don't have a lot of SPS.
Moving a power head to up to pull air is a good way to go. I have the ecotech battery back up for the vortech's. I postioned the pump just under the water level, if the power goes and...
Red- I got the bearing from a site called vxb.com. eBay for the puller. It was about 65, but worth not damaging the center piece. There were a number of dyi's on how to get the bearings off, but I have no luck with those, I alway end up spending more money taken a short cut. Happy to lend...
This mattress is quite expensive, felt great in the store, but looking to get some unbiased opinions. There are so many good and bad on so called review sites. The range of prices for a king size goes from 3000 to. 9200. A lot of money for a bed, but given one sleeps on it everyday, if they...
OK so I finally got around doing this to 1 of my pumps. Pretty simple, if you have a bearing puller. Also note that the sizes for the bearings seemed to have changed from the posts in RC to the newer MP10's. I had to get ones which were about 2mm different, so I would recommend opening the...
Here is the link I referred to in the past.

Many success stories. I'll be doing this over the weekend. I try to remember to take pictures but so many people have posts up on RC that you should be able to get full walk through.
There is a thread on RC about switching the ball bearings. I'm going to be doing this soon as I ordered the bearings an should have them soon. I'll report the mod when I start it. I was going to do this a while ago but life got in the way.
