I guess people will do anything to make a buck.. but i got these for free and again they do a really good job of keeping the sand clean and moving. When im ready to finish my hardscaping and add more corals i might take them out after reading that
That's up to you and water Parameters... some people do it weekly some bi weekly some don't do any for months I have read here on NJRC.. Here's some Calculators on the left side to help you decide http://reefcentral.com/
A very informative read and thank you!..They seem to be the same ones I have but I got mine from Great Bay.. I have had them in my tank since mid july of this year and so far everything seems to be ok.. They seem to like to be in the sand at day and all over the glass at night.. never seen them...
Your welcome.. We have a real small inlet where I live and that's where I found them in abundance but remember i got them in the summer.. I don't know if they are still out but it worth a trip to the shore :)
Im sure These are Onyx Nassarius Snails (Mud snails) I caught them in great bay and they all bury.. In fact you can see a few in the sand against the glass and as you said... :Great sand sifters and voracious eaters of detritus" :)
Hey Bob.. I think I have 2 or three of them when i picked them up from the bay the same time i caught the Onyx .. My neighbor has a local 180gl tank and has 100's of them.. he was the one who told me about them when i first started the hobby.. hey the price was right at the time ;D
Really!.. you might be better off and do some plumbing and set the skimmer under the table..if the pump can handle the head loss and still run the skimmer efficiently.. If not efficient you will have to upgrade the pump.. I know it's a bit late now but you had fresh water before and should have...
