well, staying with my 8 bulb for now, still debating on the final layout, but i think this is going to be it.

Depending on the final color of the tank, i do like a lighter look, not so much blue, i might remove...
won't have a lot of corals, but i have a pretty good bioload with the fish i have in there, so that could be dangerous. also, it's on other parts of the tank that don't really come out as well, I was able to take it out in my last tank, this tank seems to be a problem child though, lol.
Currently trying out my tech m again, along with gfo, vodka dosing and nitrate dosing while doing manual removal, i'm hoping this combo helps kill this stuff out of the system.
Nope, none so far, i'm hoping it stays that way when i switch to lps. He will take out any sponges you have though, lol. I had two clams in there at one point and he left them alone as well.
I have a question about tickets. Is there an age limit where we would not have to purchase a ticket for them? I'm a family of 6, two of my kids are 11 and 12 so that would be the family pass, two of them are under 2, one is currently a month and a half, the other is 20 months, would i have to...
That I will, and honestly it's a load off my back worrying about if they are going to grow or go south. Just some pics from today, they are all still pretty small.
I'm still currently fighting the green stuff
On the bright side of things, the only dosing i might have to do is maybe some kalk, that opens up my apex DOS unit for auto water changes, all i need is the brute trash can and i can automate a gallon a day.
Yeah, they are actually sold to Anthony already, more or less a trade. He was interested in the frags i had and at that time, I just asked him if he wanted the rest, lol.
Well, i've made the decision to get rid of most of my sps and just go with lps and a nem or two along with other easy corals. Not that i don't love sps, but with the up and down issues in the tank along with the additional testing and all that goes with it, I just don't have the time anymore...
0 nitrates 0 phosphates is a ULNS system, basically you provide the nutrients via another way besides keeping nitrates and phosphates in the water, but you are always bordering on one wrong move and you nuke the tank. Your calcium is high, i would let that fall and just stop dosing it, Alk is...
alk can be kept between 7-12 and people can have successful tanks, calcium 400-450, mag any place from 1300-1600 you should be just fine. Stability is more important, the only thing you change is if you have a ultra low nutrient system, you really don't want to have the alk go over 8 - 8.4 or...
the bonsai, tabling, blueberry, red planet, possibly a small piece of ora blue bottlebrush if the small frag makes it. What else would you like thrown in? If' you want more of what i have, i'm sure we could work something out. I'll trade for two new ATI T5 true actinic bulbs for a 48" fixture as...
Connected it's cheaper and easier, don't need a skimmer, heater, dosers etc. apart you have an emergency tank in case you need to move coral due to any issues in the main tank but more expensive. Personally I'd connect them. Also, if you are going to cut frags and move them to the frag tank, it...
I don't mess with my sand, but i had a thick amount of crud in the tank, i also pulled the tiny rocks in my sump as they were just giving the crud a place to collect.
Anything is worth a shot really, i cleaned out all the crud building at the bottom of my overflow and put a small pump down there so it can't collect, and i also went into my sump and cleaned that out, hoping that helps.
