    DSA 135....

Dosing nitrates seems to work for phosphates, down to 3ppb, or .009ppm. nitrates are someplace around 10ppm, i'll have to do a better test later when i'm not occupied with other things. New additions are on their way today, I don't think the 10ppm nitrate is enough to negatively effect any of them.

I also have the auto water change doing 10000ml a day now to bring down the mag a bit from 1800 and renew the tank a bit before the harder to keep stuff comes this week.

I would go 1 and 2, lol. One would be better to put the heater on the controller, rather than it getting stuck one day with no backup to turn it off. It's the only option out of the three that could prevent a tank failure. The other two are nice to have but not as needed.

I've been waiting a while to get a green mandarin as they aren't normally something that is stocked at the shop i go to, so today decided to order a pair from blue zoo. In addition to that, i ordered two atlantic lettuce slugs, Elysia crispata, and after doing enough research on them it looks...

    Joel's 175 Gallon Re-build

If I'm not mistaken lanthanum chloride binds the phosphate and you need a skimmer to pull it out, unless I'm thinking of another chemical. I believe most people put it in either by the skimmer intake or in a filter sock so the sock catches it.

I've got 2 or three emeralds in my system, no problems with them, they keep the bubble algae population down, i think at least. Neat to watch. Nice Zoa's there, i've been debating on getting more now.

Nem finally attached itself after two days and I can turn the power heads on again, tank was running off the return pump only. Moved the pumps a bit and turned the apex pumps down from 100% at peak down to 30% peak so I don't blow the Lps away, lol.
