    Only 2 teaspoons can dissolve pet gallon without vinegar. You probably have some falling to the bottom of the container

    30ml vinegar per gallon, 2 1/2 teaspoon kalk per gallon. At 45ml vinegar for 3 teaspoon kalk I got to much bacteria slime

    I add vinegar so I can dissolve more kalk so I don't have to dose even with sps colonies. I also get the added benefit of a carbon source.

    2-3 years and have trouble with nothing. If you read into the articles to cause that amount of leaching you would need to ran over 50 gallons of phosguard in your tank haha

    According to Randy's "experiment" he used 75ml of phosguard in 500ml of water. Which is like a MAJOR overdose. Around 300x the recommended dose, that does seems like a valuable test to me. Thanks for the info Jim, but I just had to share my view of his tests.

    I use 1/2 cup per 40 gallons and change it every 3 weeks. As it was said in this thread earlier, it drops phosphates faster than gfo so start slow. I have never had an issue with the aluminum like you read online.
