    You want 1 micron, better yet .5 micron for your sediment and carbon block. The micron on the segment filter must be lower lower or equal to the carbon block, otherwise your carbon block will clog.     What is everyone's favorite clean up crew members and why? I currently have a mix of hermits and snails but I am sooo SICK of flipping the snails back over when they fall (astrea, turbo, and margarita). So guys please recommend some clean up crew members that I do not have to baby sit. Thanks!!

    Very true, but the bacteria will die without an ammonia source. So it depends on how long the tank is without ammonia, if it will support the fish or not. You could add the fish and monitor ammonia closely.
