Yes, I wouldn't be able to have a reef tank w/o one.
In my inventory:
3 EB8s,
1 EB4
2 breakout boxes
Feeder
Water sensor
Just ordered a doser
PH probes / and temp for each tank (DT, frag, QT)
Welcome back.
Mag's are rock solid, only negative I've ever seen is the heat. DC pumps are getting popular but unless you want to spend a lot of money, they can't handle the head pressure. I hope in a couple of years the cost will be driven down.
For softies, I would think any lighting out...
I'm waiting a bit to add any SPS to the DT, so here are some acan's I recently got. 1 week in Frag QT after removing them from the plugs, and using the Bayer dip procedures. These were taken via a point and shoot (Sony rx100) hand held and thru a filter.
Yeah, I thought of that, I'm using a Milwaukee Digital Refractometer, it's been pretty spot on, but I guess there is a chance that it is off. I did read that going to 1.008 would be too low. I would have thought the fish would have shown signs the first few days, but it's been 21 days...
hypo was at 1.009 as recommended. This was the end of the third week and it was fine until 2 days ago, so not sure what to conclude from that. I guess that is why one QTs. If it was some illness better in the QT the DT. I put some bleach in the tank and will dry it out for a few days...
On the DT side things are moving along, Dino and algea are starting to show up, the fish from the 45 are having a blast with the extra space. So just need to continue to let the DT run it course through the new tank cycle. Last week, I took a trip to AO, and purchased some sand shifters, a...
So it sad to report that the Helfrichi didn't make it. The fish was in it 4th week of QT and 3rd in hypo. No other medication. 2 days ago, it stopped eating and was hiding all day. This morning I found it dead. I tested all the parameters and ammonia was reading zero using a Red Sea test...
Many fridges are rebranded and all made by a handful of factories. Check who makes yours and then get reviews on that one. Maytag makes a lot of them out there.
Paul - i remember your thread regarding black worms and do believe your on to something. I just have to figure out how to store them w/o getting thrown out of the house . I might need to buy a mini fridge!!
Steve - I just fragged up a green hammer which your welcome to. I had this since I had a JBJ nano, so I know it will do well in a small tank. All I did was keep up with water changes and it was fine. PM me if your interested.
Cool. I've been doing some reading and these lasers are pretty serious. People advise to treat them as firearms, even the reflection can blind you pretty quickly. Will have to order one soon.
If you just need a small one, I have this one now:

Small quiet and for finish work is great.
The blade is important get a good one and make sure you square it up. The tools is the smallest part in woodworking. The person behind the machine is what makes the difference. Tools just make something's easier.
