One of our sponsors, Coast to Coast Aquariums, does beautiful custom work. I'm not sure what their prices are but their tanks are very nice and they're located here in NJ.
Re: Ricwilli's 210 build
Are you talking about the line with the black handle? If so, that's pretty much exactly how ours is. 1" coming from each drain from the tank into a 2" line going donwstairs.
The good news is that with the manifold, you can fine tune the flow through your display to...
Re: Ricwilli's 210 build
That's the same pump I'm using. I'd stay with the 3" manifold. Also, my suggestion would be to use 2" pipe on the infeed side and then from the outflow to the manifold. That's how we're setup and it works great. The pump doesn't strain at all and there is plenty of...
Re: Ricwilli's 210 build
Sorry Richie, I'm late to this thread. What size pump are you using? Unless it's fairly small, I'd stick with the 3" manifold (of course I'm biased!)
We really missed you Mike. You were such a big part of our presence in Atlanta that it would have been great to have you with us in AC. Hopefully you'll be able to start a new tank soon. Let us know when you're ready. I'm sure I'll be able to frag up some stuff for you.
Hope all is well and...
Oh don't get me wrong, it's not a matter of taking Cotto lightly. I've seen just about every one of his fights. The dude can definitely take a shot and has some serious skills. To me it's more about the fact that Pacquiao not only steps up to meet the level of his competition, he steps up to...
Last time I called Pacquiao with early round knockout of Hatton and everyone thought I was crazy. I'm going with a 3rd rounder here. Pacquiao is too much of an animal these days and is at the top of his game.
We have a recirculating skimmer that we used the "correct" way for years. All it seemed to do was add to our electric bill by needing a second pump to run it. We've recently bypassed the recirc part and are using it as just a normal beckett skimmer and works just as well. We were able to tie it...
I doubt it will live long in the tropical temps. Animals like that need the change in water temp to survive. You may get a few months but probably not much longer.
A relatively inexpensive way to get more flow out of that pump is to switch the impeller with one for a Mag18. It gives you something like a "Mag15". We did that with our Mag12 and it definitely increased the flow. It doesn't help your heat issue though.
